Annemie Wyckmans is professor and leads NTNU Smart Sustainable Cities at NTNU Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Architecture and Design.
Her main goal is to promote smart sustainable cities, through research, innovation and education. She leads several cooperation projects with public and private sector in Norway, EU and China.
Wyckmans is project coordinator of the URBAN-EU-CHINA Innovation Platform of Sustainable Urbanisation, programme coordinator of the EERA Joint Programme Smart Cities (European Energy Research Alliance), project leader of SiNoPSE Sino-Norwegian Partnership in Sustainable Energy, and project leader of PI-SEC Planning Instruments for Smart Energy Communities.
She has an MSc in Architectural Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, a PhD in Building Technology and a postdoctoral degree on education for environment-friendly architecture from NTNU.
In 2010 she initiated the international interdisciplinary MSc programme in Sustainable Architecture at NTNU, and has led an interdisciplinary Experts in Team course in Sustainable Architecture at NTNU 2006-2013. Wyckmans has systematically used her training as facilitator in Experts in Team, to develop and lead cooperation projects with public and private sector (triple helix).
